I have quite a few creature images that I have done over the years. These are a few of my favourites, they are ink drawings painted with water colours.
I’m also making the little man’s halloween costume today, so when I finish I’ll post up some photo’s of it. : )
The little man inspired this weeks illustration friday topic. He liked Mr. Potatohead’s moustache so much I made one out of paper for him to wear.
I’ve been thinking about how quickly my little guy is growing and learning. It amazes me how he learns new things everyday and is getting taller and taller. I still call him my baby but he’s much more of a toddler now, walking, talking and getting into mischief. It feels like just yesterday he was a tiny baby swaddled in my arms, now he’s an active toddler and who knows how he’ll change tomorrow.
I’ve been singing a lot of songs with my thirteen months old son. The word for Illustration Friday reminded me of this one. I can never remember the right words though, so this is my own improv to get my little guy bouncing.
Here is the vector drawing version of a painting I did for my sons room. It is a simplified flat colour and no texture image that I think would look good as a tee shirt. I’m still playing around with the bunny and fox characters, I think they are a fun little duo whom I imagine will continue going on adventures together.
For my sons first birthday (Yay! Happy Birthday Aaron!) we had the party at his cousins farm house, and so the decorations I made had a cute farm animal theme.
It was a good exercise in drawing some cute characters in illustrator as well. There are a couple that I really like and I think I will continue to develop them.
It was a fun day and even the cupcakes I made turned out to look okay. Not quite what I wanted but it could have been worse.
It is once again wedding season and when I read the theme for illustration friday this week my first thought was of getting married.
These two little critters are off on their way to start their life adventure together!
It has been a long time since I’ve made a submission for illustration friday, it feels good to get back into it.
Here is a bird and flower inspired image for illustration friday. When I hear the word early I think of birds chirping and the first few blossoms to come up in the spring. ‘The early bird gets the worm’ also popped into my head but I thought it would be too cliche.
